Lending libraries

The lending libraries made by WCAP middle schoolers during the Woodworking Unit are ready for delivery! All we need are more children's books to deliver with each library. We want The Women's Center, Waukesha County Community Dental Clinic, and Children's Hospital of Wisconsin to have overflowing library boxes to spread the joy of reading! Please pass this information on to your friends and family. Thank you!

The library boxes are on display in our storefront window at 820 N. Grand Avenue in downtown Waukesha.

‘tis was the amazing Irish Music band that played at our Anniversary fundraiser in November 2012. Their lively music added a lot of fun and energy to the event. Not only did they donate their time and talent that night, but they donated money from any of their CD’s sold that night!

Waukesha JanBoree starts today!

Go to www.janboree.org to see all of the activities planned for this weekend. At WCAP, we are holding a free public art making event called “Fire vs. Ice”. Community members are invited to drop in anytime between 11am and 4pm to make flags to be part of our huge colorful garland. Each flag will represent the maker’s favorite kind of weather- hot(fire) or cold (ice). Any predictions on the winner? The garland will be displayed in our storefront window in Downtown Waukesha, so you will be able to see for yourself which kind of weather wins!
All materials and instruction are provided. Just bring yourself and your friends and family.

Saturday January 19th is WCAP's Winter JanBoree event: Fire vs. Ice
Drop in any time between 11 am and 4 pm to help make a huge garland that will show the your favorite type of weather- Hot or Cold?
Each person wil make a piece (or pieces) to be added to one garland. The artwork can be anything-from realistic to abstract, and anything in between. This is a user-friendly event.
All materials and instruction are provided for this all ages FREE event.
No art experience is necessary.
A sample of this project will be hanging in our window later today.

Comedic Monologue and Scene Cancelled

Due to the weather conditions, the drama class’ performance is cancelled. This is a hard call. The participants have worked very hard and they are ready to put on a great show. Don’t worry after the winter break we will reschedule this show!

Drama Class begins Thursday September 6th

We are so excited that our awesome drama teacher, Cheryl Peterson, will be returning to WCAP this year to offer exciting drama classes for our after school programs for middle school students. The classes will be held on Thursdays, 2:45 to 5 PM throughout the school year. The classes are FREE and high school students are invited to volunteer.

Our fist class begins September 6th. We are so excited that Art Links 333 has invited us to help them with their production of “James and the Giant Peach” This a great opportunity for our students to learn set design, lighting, audio, and prop making and to be a part of a production at the Waukesha Civic Theater!
